Old Curriculum

Total: 134 Credits

Total ECTS: 245

IMPORTANT NOTES:

With a recent change in our program, one of the elective courses must be an HSS elective. This regulation is valid for students who are in the 3rd semester of the academic program as of the Fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year (who started their first year in the 2021-22 academic year or after).

Starting from the Spring 2024 semester, students will be able to take PHYS 102 instead of PHYS 130, and CHEM 101 and CHEM 106 instead of CHEM 103 and CHEM 109, respectively. These courses will be considered equivalent.

* Students who passed the English Proficiency Test (BUEPT) (İngilizce Yeterlilik Sınavı) with “C” should take AE 111 and AE 112. Those who passed the exam with "A" or "B" should take 3 credit HSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) courses instead. For a list of HSS courses, refer to the University's list of HSS courses announced on the Registration web site each semester.

** You may either take MATH 102 or MATH 201.

*** Unrestricted elective courses should be 3 credits. Different course credits cannot be added up to make up a 3 credit course (e.g. one-credit course and another two-credit course together cannot be counted as a three-credit unrestricted elective). Get the approval of your advisor before adding any courses as unrestricted electives.

****  Science Electives in CET include:
         • All 3-credit courses coded MATH, CHEM, BIO, PHYS (other than those already required in the program)
         • Faculty of Engineering courses (advisor approval needed)

***** You need to complete a certain number of credits (min. 80) and successfully complete all the first-year courses in the program to be eligible for this course.  You will be notified by the department at the end of the previous summer term if you are eligible (effective starting 2018/2019 - 3 Summer Semester).
